I wanted to upgrade my 5 year old pc instead of buying one because I think the i5 processor is still pretty good. So I bought a new graphic card and a new PSU to support it from newegg. Replace the PSU then GPU, but after I connected to my monitor, no display is showing. To make sure I did not plug in any wrong connections from the million things in the PSU, I put my old graphics card back and it worked fine. Then I tried updating my BIOS (can only update to A06), looking for somewhere to switch to PCIE and things like that but nothing has worked so far.

And I have researched on how to switch to PCIE display in BIOS, but my BIOS does not have that option and I have looked everywhere for it. Same after I updated it from dell support.

So I'm doubting now maybe my GPU is too advanced for my pc, though I have checked the requirements and only sees that it needs 500W.

Here what I have:
Dell XPS 8300 bought in 2010
windows 7 home premium
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2320 CPU @3.00GHz, 3001 Mhz, 4 CORE...
BIOS version: Dell inc, A06, 2011/10/17
RAM 6.00G

PSU: EVGA 600BRONZE
+5V, +3.3V, +12V, -12V, +5Vsb (I have no idea what these mean)

Old GPU:
AMD Radeon HD 6450
1GB ram

New GPU:
SAPPHIRE NITRO Radeon R9-380
4GB 256-Bit
PCI-E 3.0 ATX DUAL-X OC VERSION

So is my PC capable of handling this graphic card or there's something else I have missed?
This is my first time opening the back of my PC, so as a newb I really need some help. Thank you very much.

Simple troubleshooting step would be to wipe the bios, if you don't have a raid or anything special going on. Just look for the pin jumper on the mobo near the battery. not sure exactly where on your model. usuall you just jump it from the one set of 2 to the next one over so its from (pin pin open) to (open pin pin) turn on the pc, itl probably shut of itself, remove the power, switch the jumper back and turn it on.

does the pc have onboard video? make sure your plugged into the new gpu on boot.
