What is the best, most reliable hard drive for raid 1.

I was looking into getting some hard drives for raid 1 for my father, because he explicitly stated he wanted some really reliable drives so that he doesn't loose his data. He said he wanted an enterprise drive but, i'm not quite an expert on enterprise drives. Is an enterprise drive worth it or should I get a reliable consumer drive (please state model and maker)

You don't say what size drive(s) or if this is going to be used for home only or for an office server type application.
I'd look at the Western Digital Black or Enterprise drives myself.

Western Digital Re series are very reliable and when you combine high quality drives with the redundancy of RAID 1 your dad's data will be very safe. offsite backup will make him bulletproof
