Disc drive won't read any discs

My disc drive won't read any discs - games, DVDs, music. The only thing that will remotely work is a burned disc with pictures on it, except that when I access the disc drive, it displays no content.

When I put a disc in, it clicks 3 times, the clicks spaced out. Then does nothing. The computer says there's nothing in the drive. The computer also says there's nothing wrong with the drive.

Solution
If it's clicking, it is very unlikely that cleaning the lens will help, it's probably physical issue with the motor. If you want to clean it, just open it up and use a lightly wet cotton swap to clean the lens, use water or iso alcohol.
It is most likely dead. Disc drives tend to have an extremely high failure rate, even if they are not used that often.

You could try cleaning the lens but don't hold your breath. If you absolutely need a disc drive, you can order one from a place like newegg or amazon for quite cheap.

They do? I wasn't aware of that. I have two other computers, and their disc drives work fine.

On this one, I did use it a lot.

I have more info. I'm concerned that maybe I did something to it when I cleaned dust out of the tower awhile back. That's when it started giving me trouble. It would first give me error messages, but I would find a way to make it work. Now it does nothing.

You said I could clean the lense? How do I do that?

After attempting to clean it, I think it would be best if I bought an external disc drive or wait for a new computer. I guess it got worn out from so much use.

But thank you both, SinxarKnights and hang-the-9.
