Hello Forum,

After port forwarding some ports I have ran into an issue. I used my computers IP address to port forward my server via Asus router. However, when attempting to connect to the server externally it doesn't work. Am I supposed to type "PrivateIP:port Number" Or "WAN IP:port number" into the web browser to connect? When I used the WAN IP:port number it works but isn't it supposed to be the private IP?

Thanks,
Fred.

You use WAN IP address: port number to access the server from outside of your network.

The port number is not required when accessing from inside your network and using the private IP address. The private address can't be used outside of your LAN.
