Hey y'all

A while back I posted a message regarding my computer not being able to start properly. My computer is four years old and I've been using it constantly without any serious issues.

Couple of months ago my computer was shutting down without any apparent reason, it wouldn't shut down instantly, it would close programs as if I had clicked "shut down" in the Windows menu. After a while it was impossible to get my computer past the Windows welcome screen.

A user suggested it might have been the PSU, so I took it to a friend in the IT department at work and after a voltmeter test he told me my PSU wasn't working properly.

I bought a new one and installed it this morning, I made sure everything was connected well, when I started the machine I managed to use my computer for 40 minutes and then it shut down again without previous notice. Again, it did not shut down out of the blue, it acted as if I had pressed the "shut down" button on windows.

I've been using a 700va ups, and when I connected both my PC and my Cintiq to the backup outlets it would flash red, so I ended up connecting only my PC to the backup and the Cintiq to the non-backup outlets. I was afraid this was causing my PSU to fail (can a low VA ups harm a PSU?) and my computer to shut down so I connected them to a surge suppressor.

It would still shut down randomly. So... it's not the PSU apparently... any clues as to what could be the cause of this? I would appreciate any help guys.

Here are my specs

Cintiq 21UX for monitor

Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz
EVGA Supernova 650 G2, previously a Corsair CMPSU-650TX
EVGA nvidia GTX570
Motherboard GIGABYTE GA-X58-USB3 X58 1366 R
Crucial 6GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1066

Thanks :)

Like it is pressing itself? Would that make the PC shut down like when you press shut down on Windows?

Is there a way to turn on the computer without pressing the power button? Was my PSU failing a consequence of this or just a coincidence? Thanks for answering :)
