Can I use these sticks of RAM even if they aren't listed as tested?

I am looking into the Super Micro X8DTL-i (I know, it is old), and I noticed that more Registered ECC RAM is supported (96 GB) compared to Unregistered/ non ECC RAM (24 GB), This was expected of course.
However, there is a tested RAM list, and with that limited list having 96 GB would be literally impossible (the highest on the list is 8 GB and the motherboard only has 6 slots). I found a stick of 16 GB registered ECC RAM, but I am now wondering. Will deviating from the list still work?

Oops, forgot, here is the RAM I am looking at:
http://www.amazon.ca/Kingston-KTH-PL316-DDR3-1600-PC3-12800-Registered/dp/B00C8GT2BM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1440645220&sr=8-1&keywords=registered+ecc+16
And here is the compatibility list:
http://www.supermicro.com/support/resources/memory/display.cfm?sz=8.0&mspd=1.333&mtyp=33&id=1EBA54600ECB890F82D479187488D4DF&prid=81341&type=DDR3&ecc=1&reg=1&fbd=0

Solution
I'd shoot a PM to KingstonHQ and check, it might be, but think this is a newer stick and probably made with high density memory chips, if so don't thing they would be compatible

Thanks for your help! I just found the memory selection tool.
It would appear, that the previous stick of RAM was indeed, not supported, but there were a lot of other 16 GB RAM sticks that were supported
