It depends on what software you use. If you use mac software then the pro with the dgpu is good for you needs.

Otherwise get a workstation. Look into either firepro or quadrinos depending on the software. But make sure it is a drt and not a thin slim machine as these overheat.

Isn't that a desktop?

I would suggest the macbook pro if you use the software on the mac os and not bootcamping software from the windows partition.

But I do have to ask, if portability is not needed, then why do you want a laptop. For these things a desktop would better for 2 main reasons:

1. Cost
2. Size

The first one is obvious as it would be cheaper to get a desktop than a laptop and get better performance.

The second one is very important as for video editing, having a large screen makes a huge difference.

A Quadro card would be good but the difference between them and their Geforce counterparts is mininal when video editing. If anything, it may be better to go for a geforce card as there would be more CUDA cores, which adobe software uses when editing and transcoding. Slim machines are fine when it comes to overheating from my experience - all of the laptops that I have used that are slim have never overheated when being stressed with both furmark and linpack simultaneously.
