Which one do I need? Does the Extreme9 have any advantage over the Extreme6 or 4, other than more slots for stuff? I'm gonna get one for a high end gaming build, I will use the 4790k, 2 980 Ti's (will only get one at first, but I might get another one at some point) and 16 gb dual ram, so which one should I get?

Well, the differences are pretty minor.

Extreme 4 has 2 16x pcie gen 3 slots and one gen slot. It's supports qaud fire and four way sli.

Extreme 6 has 3 16x pcie slot. It's also supports quad fire and four ways sli.

Extreme 9 has 4 16x pcie slots and can be run in tadem with m.2. Can support 4 video cards and is also quad fire and four way sli compatible.

Usually, the extreme 6 is the one to get since the price difference is so small between it and the extreme4. The extreme9 is only meant for those who want to use four video cards at the same time and I can't imagine to many people are going to buy this board considering you should really be getting an x99 (to avoid CPU bottleneck) if your plan on crossfiring or sliing 4 cards.
