I have GTX 780Ti as primary card and my i7-4770 has unused Intel HD4600 graphics chip integrated. My rig has 32 GB of high speed (quad channel) RAM, so extra mem usage is no problem.
Some games need ridiculous amounts of GPU power nowadays for even decent graphical performance (try ARK for example), so dedicated PhysX GPU would help take load off from graphics GPU. Thus would dedicating the CPU as PhysX help the situation or create just another bottleneck? Nvidia control panel has option for CPU to act as dedicated PhysX processor, but it doesn't seem to recommend this...
