24GB vs 16GB DDR3 ?

Hi guys !

I am currently using 16GB DDR3 1600mhz (dual channel 2x8GB) of Gskill, I got another 2x4GB DDR3 1600mhz Avexir Ram ! I am using Asus Maximus VII Hero with i7 4790k and window 10 pro 64bit and window10 pro 64bit !

My question is Will my rig able to use all of those 24GB Ram and will it be faster than 16GB of Gskill ? If yes what task will gain benefit from that extra 8GB ?

Depending on what you use the Pc for, it's likely that you wouldn't see any benefit from adding that ram. With that being said, what do you use your computer for?

Unless you are using up the 16GB you have it won't make any difference. You'll just have more ram sitting there doing nothing.

Mostly I use my rig for heavy gaming at 2k resolution ! I would want to know that will adding those 2x4GB Avexir improve the performance or not ? If not I will sell them !

System memory has no effect on that. The card's VRAM takes care of all graphic memory. More system memory will improve map loading time, but 16 GB is more than enough for that. Actually, 8GB is. Most games are still 32 bit coded, meaning they can only access 4GB of system memory anyway.
And if you are multitasking other stuff while gaming, you are wasting clock cycles anyway.

Mixing RAM can have issues. I tried something like that myself and found that the older RAM kit slowed down the entire system RAM, so I uninstalled the old RAM. Besides, you don't really need anything more than 16 GB of RAM for gaming anyway.

Get rid of the Avexir. With the G.Skill RAM, make sure XMP is enabled in BIOS/EFI, that will allow the system to run at maximum performance.
