I have a HP p6230y with a Aloe H-RSS880-uATX Mobo, and I tried to install Linux using a usb flash drive but whenever I selected it on the BIOS screen it gave me a blank screen
As long as you're able to select it, you should be able to boot with it. Just like Ivan said above, make sure you've made your USB bootable. There are plenty of tools available to make these, I often use Rufus and it works like a charm every time. https://rufus.akeo.ie/?locale=en_US
Well I used Unetbootin because the only other computer in my house is a mac, is that the problem?
Edit: the reason I'm installing Linux is because my win7 PC is corrupted
Tried using a different stick maybe? Just a quick Google search and I've found an alternative program, try this one: http://diskmakerx.com/ - http://diskmakerx.com/faq/ for some info should you need it. Good luck!
