FX 8350 + R9 380 (4GB) = 60 FPS on Ultra @ 1080p?

Title says it all. Can this CPU+GPU handle modern + future games on Ultra at 60+ FPS (Heck, even 45 FPS would be fine)? BTW, I'm trying to stay on a tight budget, and this is probably the best I can go with that would be compatible with the rest of my parts. If it can't handle Ultra, what is the cheapest CPU+GPU I can go with that can handle Ultra? I might be willing to raise my budget if it's not too much more.

And, before you say get a R9 2--, I screwed up by buying a PSU that only has one 6-pin connector, so most of the R9 GPUs won't work with it, plus my PSU only has 430w, so it can't handle anything like a 290. Also, before you say go Intel + Nvidia, AMD+ATI/AMD is the cheapest, and like I said, I'm trying to stay on a budget.

Solution
I would say you are going to want at least a GTX 970 or an R9 390 for ultra settings in a few of the current games, and in poorly coded games forgot about ultra settings.
An FX 8350, unless overclocked, is going to bottleneck anything over an R9 380/R9 280x/GTX 960 in cpu heavy games.
That 430w PSU is going to struggle powering an FX 8350 + an R9 380, even a super high quality psu, forget about overclocking either component with 430w.
I suggest a 550w PSU for an R9 380, 650/750w for the GTX 970/R9 390 or anything above.
Your PSU almost certainly cant handle a 380 either then mate - you're going to be stuck with a gtx 960 max on a 430w PSU.

If you're tight on budget look at a 6300+ aftermarket cooler over an 8350.once over clocked it'll match or surpass a 8350 for gaming.

If I do get a high-end GPU later on (let's say the 980 Ti), would there be any bottleneck with an OCed FX 6300? I hear people complaining about it with a GTX 970.

Is there any GPU you recommend that can handle Ultra that costs less than the GTX 970? Also, I'll probably just buy a new PSU. I'll probably keep the one I have for another build I guess, it's not like it's a cheap $14 one.

I'd expect a big bottleneck with a 980Ti and 6300. For 1080p a 8350 oc'd will work very well with a 970 or 980, yes cpu heavy games will bottleneck slightly but it will still perform better than a lesser gpu.

Where you are based is there much of a difference between an i5 4460 or 4690? Remember to factor in the i5 wont OC so can use a cheaper motherboard and will work perfectly on its stock cooler. The 6300 or 8350 will need a good overclock which will need a good cooler and more expensive motherboard

So, uh, I can forget about being on a budget, then? I guess it'll be a while until I get enough money for the parts. Hey, at least I have a Xbox One, so it's not like I can't play any upcoming games.

How much are you willing to spend on components? And what components do you currently own?

Where I am, a 4460 is around $180 and a 4690 is about $220. Although, I can get a 4590 for about $160. Since now I need a bigger budget if I want ultra, is there a reason I should spend more money on the 4460 or 4690, or will the 4590 do just fine?

While I would rather have a PC sooner, I'll spend as much I need to in order to play on Ultra at reasonable frames. Also, currently I have a case, the PSU, and an optical drive and HDD I had from a previous build. I was planning to get the RAM and a SSD this week, though.

An overclocked 6300 will give you decent frames - its the 380 that's incapable of ultra settings not the CPU.

You are going to be pushing it running a 970 though on a 430w psu IMO ?? There are acfew single 8 pin cards that may work ok depending on what the actual PSU model is??

I wouldn't be running an overclocked FX 6300 + a GTX 970 on 430w PSU.
Maybe, just maybe, you could get away with the 430w PSU if you go the non k Intel i5 route with the GTX 970.

The 4590 is an excellent CPU and the difference to the 4690 is tiny and its stronger than 4460

Well, I've decided I'll just get an i5-4590 and an Asus GTX 970 STRIX (one of the few 970 cards that is compatible with my PSU). While it will take much longer to get the money for it, it seems like it would be worth it. Thanks for all the help.

Please give up on the idea of using a 430w PSU. Even if its a top quality unit it is not enough for any decent gpu including any 970. The minimum for any 970 based system is a 500w, going for a lower power PSU even if its high quality is asking for problems. These problems can range from stability and random reboots to the PSU actually failing where you also risk damage to other components. The PSU is the most important part of a pc.

What make and model is your PSU? Quality of PSU even on a 550w unit is more important than its watt rating.

Please take advice on your whole build including the psu to avoid a load of potential problems.

All of the parts together (and yes, including the GTX 970) takes up 323 watts on full load, according to PCPartPicker. Although it may be off, it probably can't be 107 watts off. And yes, I realize watts aren't everything, but my PSU should be able to handle it. (My PSU is by EVGA, and they are one of the best brands in the market, they make pretty high-quality stuff)

Also, here's the link to my PSU: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00H33SDR4/?tag=pcpapi-20
And before you say "Holy crap, you spent $40 on that thing!", it had a $20 rebate, and $20 feels like a justifiable price for it.

We all know of the b1 evga psu's - some people don't like them - I do tend to champion them for budget builds.

A 4460 + a gtx 970 isn't a budget build though & in this instance I would at least go as a minimum with the 500b anyway.

Is the 430 capable of powering those components under normal gaming conditions - yes just about.
IF you stick to one of the non heavily over clocked cards that use a single 8 pin connector.
The reference wattage of the 970 is 145w , some of the more heavily clocked variants are capable of 190-210w full power draw.
Under full stress one of those with an 8 core could easily swamp the 430's 12v output.

The 430 does have a BIG 12v rail akin to some 500w PSU's.

If you go with a locked i5 & an 8 pin 970 then you will be just about OK.
