Storage not showing on windows 8.1

I have had some problems with my computer recently my computer hasn't been able to detect my new hard drive on my computer. I have looked at my bios and it shows that the drive is there and working but when i access the storage management on the admin tools it says that the drive doesn't exist.

My computer specs: Pc spec:
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5600+
Motherboard: Dell 0RY206
Ram: 2x2GB DDR2 Samsung and corsair
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon R7 200 Series 4GB

also i know my pc is a bit old but have had no problems with it at all becides the hard drive situation. i do already have 2 hard drives linked by sata that work but the 3rd doesnt want to.

Any help please! :D

Thanks for replying so fast and no it doesn't I have tried it for 4hours now trying to fix it and still can't figure it out

I don't have another computer to use it in and I cannot send you a screen shot currently as I'm away from the computer but all it shows is my main hard drive (C:) my second hard drive and my external USB hard drive. The one I want is not appearing on the bar at the bottom or the list above it.

The smiley thing happens all the time don't worry about it.

Try swapping over the cables (both power and data) from another drive that works - leave them plugged into the motherboard and PSU but unplug the other end (from the drive) and plug those into the HDD that isn't showing up properly. See if that works.

I have already changed to cables round and it still says it's connected on the bios but not on windows, most of the obvious fixes have not worked :(

Right I have tested the hard drive on another computer over at my friends house and the hard drive works but not on mine he has the same OS and works fine on his but not mine? Why this happening?

320GB and I have the latest drivers on the pc but I'm not sure about the bios, tbh I thought the bios would be fine as it has detected the hard drive.
