Is this CPU and Motherboard bundle good?

Worth, I do not know.
A APU is a very good product for what it is.
It has good integrated graphics and an OK cpu.
If your friend has no interest in any future upgrades, it should be good.

My problem with APU builds center about what the upgrade possibilities are.
If one installs a discrete graphics card in the future, you will have wasted the original graphics.
The only upgrades to an apu motherboard is to add more cores, and that does not help gaming much.
Most games depend on a single fast master core, and using more than 2-3 cores effectively is rare.

If one is looking to future upgrades, I would start with a Cheap G3258 and a lga1150 motherboard.
