Windows Updates keep failing and reverting at startup.

Hello and thanks for taking the time to have a look at my problem!

I recently did a completely fresh install of Windows 7 on my new SSD and everything seemed to be going fine. (I should note here, I've never installed a new HDD or SSD, but I did both the other day. I felt like this might be a relevant piece of information in case I might have missed a step here)!

Anyway, the past few times I've shut down my PC, it's came up with a message before it's shut down saying that it's installing updates. I leave it, then it eventually shuts down. When I go to boot it up, it says it's "Configuring updates", gets stuck on 0%, then it eventually says "Configuration failed, reverting changes".

I posted this on reddit, but didn't get much help. You can see what the other guy suggested, and also a screenshot of the failed updates in my Windows update history here as well.

If anyone could help me with this, I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks,
George

In that case you could try doing it manually from the instructions further down that same page.

Or if it helps I made a little script for this. Copy and paste this into notepad and save as updates.bat
http://pastebucket.com/90943
Then run it as administrator.

I usually go through option 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 in that order.
