$1700 CAD gaming PC first time builder

Solution

Use the EVGA G2 that I linked to in my previous posts. I have two of those units and they have not given me a single lick of trouble. Those are Super Flower Leadex units which are the best of the best right now. The Corsair CSM is a mid range Channel Well unit. They're not terrible units but at the same time there's better units in every price range that you could be going with.

The case fan isn't necessary and there's definitely better SSDs and power supplies you can get. EVGA makes great PSUs but only the G2/P2/T2/B2. Those are Super Flower Leadex based. Everything else they make is a rebranded HEC unit, which are pretty much trash.

This is a unit I would suggest for your budget:

This looks fine but there is no monitor

I generally leave monitor/keyboard/mouse/OS up to each user (mainly because most people building on $1500 or more include that stuff in a separate budget). If you want a monitor I can definitely suggest one but that entirely depends on what resolution you plan to run. Do you want to run 1080P? 1440? 4K?.

I prefer 1440p but if it doesnt fit the budget then 1080p is fine too

With that particular build you probably won't with 1440P as those run around the $250 CAD range minimum. Quality displays will obviously run more.

So could you give me advice on a good 1080p monitor with at least 75Hz

That really isn't a good build - you can't overclock a 4690K on H97 and that defeats the purpose of owning one. The Corsair CSM power supplies are also below sub par units. There's a lot better you can get for the price or not much more than that. And again the extra case fan is a waste of money.
