AsRock H97 Pro4 Motherboard, 280X GPU, Windows 7 64b.

No problems before installation but my onboard audio has always been "faulty".

Today I purchased a cheap ASUS Xonar DSX 7.1 Surround (PCI Express).

Followed instructions online to;

1. Uninstall existing audio drivers (Realtek).
2. Disable on board audio within BIOS.

I then installed the card into a free (tried in multiple slots) PCIE slot and rebooted the computer.

The computer booted slowly (Usually pretty quick, i5 4690 and SSD), but I thought nothing of it thinking it might be detecting new hardware.

Anyway after hanging on the 'Welcome' windows loader for 20-30~ seconds the entire screen went black and hanged like that for 30-60~ seconds before entering windows desktop.

It does this every time now and is extremely annoying. I have tried to correct the problem myself but I am unable to find any answers online relating to my problem.

Currently I have removed the sound card and restored my computer to before installation, it's now working as normal but I would really like to use my new sound card if possible.

I hope the good people at TomsHardware can help me.

Thanks in advance.
Tom
