What do you need 16gbs of ram for?
for gaming you only need 8.
If you really really want 16, it's smartest to just get a 16gb (2x8) set and not risk having to buy one anyways when mixing the ram doesn't work.
I multi task a lot, even during games. I often find my 8GB is running dry. What if the frequency of the RAM is the same? Will is still cause issues? The reason i don't want to buy a whole new set is because here in Canada, RAM prices are stupidly high (well, prices for all PC components, i built my PC for $2000, but in America with the same components, it would be like, $1000 - $1200. Sucks man.
