CPU cores seem .....lazy?

Hi all,

Just wondering if this is normal cpu activity for the benchmark, hopefully some of you are familiar with it. There was only 1 or 2 small skips but Im just wondering as most games seem to load some of the cpus and not others, is this a threading issue?

Im running @ 1080

Intel i7 4790k (not overclocked as its a stock cooler)
ROG maximus ranger vii
evga 12gb titan x
16gb corsair evo
1 TB HHD

Im also wondering why games like GTA V still seem skippy even after some tweaking while ARK survival evolved runs buttery smooth, anyone got a similar setup?

Thanks for looking! ;)

One, most things don't use all eight (with hyperthreading) cores. Also, with things that could use eight, power efficiency means that threading will usually only occur when a core is using all of it's processing time, leading to idle cores. Poor game performance is likely a GPU issue as that CPU can run about everything.

It's a titan x... unless he's running 5k there is no problem there.

Is it normal for cpu core 1 to reach maximum usage , which usually leads to a skip or pause?

if so,
Once i over clock the CPU to 4.4ghz , over clock the titan and control the temps Id say the skips from GTA V should smooth out.

Ive just seen so many videos of people with very similar setups achieving much better performance but I guess thats the nature of over clocking slow and steady until shes just right
