Which Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti should I get?

Choosing between two Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti - The MSI TWIN FROZR V OR, The GIGABYTE G1 GAMING. On newegg the reviews are quite skewed. The MSI has rave reviews while the Gigabyte has mixed reviews. Is the Gigabyte really this bad for so many people to have given it mediocre reviews? Is the MSI really that good? The Gigabyte's cooler can dissipate upto 600Watts so isnt that better than the MSI's twin frozr v? Please give me some hints as to which one I should get.

If you want the best performance and potential overclocking headroom go with the Gigabyte GTX 980Ti G1 Gaming http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168.... If you want the best overall card from performance to quiet operation then get the MSI GTX 980Ti Gaming http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168.... Both are excellent cards so if aesthetics are important then just choose the one that you think looks the best.

Take a peak at reviews on Amazon.com. They tend to sell lots more cards, and as a result, they also get more reviews. I do look at both Amazon and Newegg, but after years of buying almost exclusively at Newegg, I switched last year.

But according to the reviews it is also the most defective one. One person said his Gigabyte 980 Ti G1 had a problem after 5 months: one of the three fans wouldn't spin up at all and the other two had to run on full speed to keep the card cool and the sound was like a small vacuum cleaner.

Will the MSI OC as good as the Gigabyte?

It's possible, computer hardware are really a lottery but Gigabyte did bin the GPU's for their G1 series so they have a great likelihood of OC'ing better. Personally, I like the MSI Gaming myself but I don't do any heavy OC'ing. I prefer the quiet operation and may do some moderate OC'ing.

Supply and demand. Price doesn't always mean better.

Both cards come with a nice warranty so I doubt I will run into any big problems that won't be covered by warranty. Anyways such a card I won't be OC-ing anytime soon anyways. I am not into OC-ing for the sake of benchmarking scores.

So i have decided on the GIGABYTE G1 GAMING. It's cheaper, readily available, and I like it's looks and OC headroom. Hope all is good :cheese:
