Having recently purchased a 4k monitor from Korea (Wasabi Mango UHD420 42") and after playing around in the nvidia control panel; I was disappointed to find no available 4k resolution options above a refresh rate of 30Hz. 1080p runs fine at 60Hz, however anything higher defaults to 30Hz.
Im currently using an nvidia GTX 560Ti 448 core edition video card with Displayport.
Before investing in a new video card that officially supports 4k resolutions, I would want to be sure that it is actually the video card which is the limiting factor rather than the monitor itself.
I am using the bundled display port 1.2 cable which should be capable of transmitting the desired signal.
Would anyone be able to advise which hardware is the limiting factor in this situation? I would want to get in contact with the monitor supplier if the capabilities were not as advertised.
