Hello everyone,

I have recently upgraded my OS from Windows 8.1 to 10. Everything went well, no issues whatsoever! It's been almost a month and everything is still working fine.

I happened to look at my Samsung Magician software and noticed that it has not recognized the new upgraded OS, see picture below:

Any idea what's going on?

As far as firmware update is concerned, Magician software shows that my Samsung 840 Pro SSD is in need for a firmware update, but I'm sure you have read many reviews about people upgrading their firmware and lost all their data. So I have not updated the firmware. The Samsung 850 Evo SSD shows it has the most recent firmware, but Magician still shows error in obtaining info regarding OS.

Solution
Today, as of a few hours ago, Samsung have posted Magician 4.7.

Here's an extract from Magician 4.7 PDF Guide

Magician version 4.7 features a number of improvements over version 4.6:
- New model support: 850 PRO 2TB, 850 EVO 2TB
- Advanced Performance Optimization support for 840 EVO mSATA
; New firmware is required to use Advanced Performance Optimization
- Minor bug fixes

However, it still does not fix RapidMode for those installing the software fresh on Windows 10.... The same issue as pictured above...

FYI: In my case I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro 64-bit with RapidMode Enabled, it remains enabled on my system with Magician 4.7...
and it also shows 'RapidMode is Enabled' even though the same error comes up when it is selected...

Samsung advising to backup is just a precaution in case the firmware update fails from a disruption like power outage. It checks and validates the firmware update downloaded first before applying so nothing to worry about. I've done the update myself and it was fine.

As for Samsung Magician software not recognizing Win10 is because the program itself is outdated, not sure if Samsung has released a Win10 version yet.

It's frustrating that even a month after Windows 10 release that Samsung can't fix their software properly for RapidMode on W10!
