I am running Win 7 Ult. x64
I have a Kingston Hyper 240GB 3K SSD.MB MSI Z77A-G43, Socket-1155.
About 4 weeks ago I received the missing MBR message and have spent most of these past days trying to fix things without any success. I tried to reinstall the OS, no success.
First I tried dozens of times with the windows System repair disk that I had burnt earlier. Next I tried a couple of MBR repair thingies.
I have Copied everything to another HDD. Now I want to format.
Taking a Suint at the SSD there are two partitions, One system reserved, about100mb there are two files, one file named BCD_Backup, size and the other Temp, containing Windows Boot Manager

The remaining partition has the windws OS and looks to have all my files.

I think that the repair disk is looking at the fail partition.
Can I format and do a clean install?
My knick probably explains why I am having problems
Any advice is most welcome 12OF

An update,
I merged the partitions on the SSD and formatted with NTFS.
Started to install windows and all went well until the last lump of the install, then it stopped.
I was wondering if I reset the CMOS, am I inviting even more trouble?

Further update, I think that it might be a MB issue. I have tried to install various Windows, Linux and a Linux live cd. All do the same thing, nearly at the end the installation, everything freezes.

PARTIALLY SOLVED!!!

Well I managed to sort a lot of the issues.
I opened up a laptop and exchanged the Hdd for my Ssd. I managed to install win7 Ultimate 64 bits.
This started my PC and although there are still a lot of issues it is up and running and recognizes a 4TB disk.
