I have 2x2GB of 533mhz and a mobo than supports 800mhz, 1066mhz and 1333mhz ram speed.
Is there a way I can make my mobo compatible with lower than 800mhz? I tried the RAM already and its not really working too well as the computer freezes on startup. If I can just overclock the RAM to 800mhz, can someone explain to me how it can be done please?

CPU intel core 2duo E8600 3.33GHZ
MOBO: gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
RAM : DDR2 533mhz

Check in the bios and insure that your memory voltage and the settings for the memory timings are all set to values that your memory supports. Then download and run the free version of memtest86 from HERE and boot from memtest from a CD. Let it run a few passes to see if once your memory is properly set up it runs without errors.

Use the latest version of memtest (5.01), your memtest did not run as it lists no information. You will have to dig into your bios more, the information on what your memory is actually running for timings is not on that page and neither is the actual memory voltage.
