Hi -
I just purchased a new GPU (MSI R9 380 2gb card), and after installing it (properly!), I was greeted by a black screen upon turning on my computer. No BIOS or anything - monitor simply stayed black and its power button yellow.
Now...
1) I'm using a four year old Corsair TX650 PSU, so I cannot imagine that would be the issue;
2) I installed it properly. It is my first time installing a GPU, but I cannot imagine how I would have fucked it up. It's sitting tight in its socket and the pins from my PSU are connected. This was obviously done the computer entirely unplugged;
3) My motherboard (MSI P67A-C45) does not support unboard graphics, and therefore, my issue is not due to onboard graphics conflicting with the new GPU (this is by far the most common fix people suggest from what I've seen googling);
4) My old GPU - a partially malfunctioning Asus GeForce 560 Ti - is functioning just fine (well, as far as its malfunctioning allows for) when connected in exactly the same way as the new one.
I'm really at a loss, and it seems as though no amount of Googling will give me an answer.
Any ideas?
