Hello I have an i5 2400 cpu chip, and am using the stock cooler. My temps are running about 45-55 celsius, I am wondering if an aftermarket cooler will get it to around 30-35 celsius.
30-35c temps are generally in the idle range regardless of cooler.
What are you measuring? Idle or load? 45-55c is typical of temps for using an aftermarket cooler when the computer is running at a load of like 100%.

that was not idle, I apologize. It wasn't under very heavy load but I think I will be getting a T4.
The T4 for $15 sounds like a great deal, its not like you're doing crazy overclocks with that CPU.
Yeah it is a good deal for sure, I think I am going to go with the 212 evo since I can mount it without taking my mobo out which would have been a real pain, and so I could use it for a future build if I decide to go that route.

the 212 evo comes with a backplate to put on the back of the motherboard like any other aftermarket cooler, i think you're gonna need to take it out
