Sorry if this isn't in the right category, but I need some help
I'm downloading a game thats 5.5 GBs, and 17.1 GBs. And the hotel I'm at doesn't have very good download speed. And the website said to download Free Download Manager to help the download speed. I did plenty of research to make sure it doesn't have viruses. When I downloaded it, it did download faster. But when I tried to load a page on Google Chrome, it redirected be to *cough cough* websites. It only seemed to affect Chrome. I uninstalled Chrome and installed Firefox.
It's taken 2 hours to get 1.5 GBs out of 5.5 GBs. I scanned my system and no viruses (so I'm safe).
My question is that does anyone know if there's an actual virus free Internet Download Manager.

Solution
Just use your browser to download. Those download managers like to quietly install spamware and ads. And they rarely, if ever, help the speeds of the downloads.

What you are describing that happened with Chrome is what those download managers do to your system. If I were you, I would uninstall that download manager, and then run Malwarebytes, AdwCleaner and then run CCleaner to clean up the registry as well.
