G-Sync and Free-Sync are similar, but different. 'better' depends on what you want. I think that G-Sync is technically a little better, but it also costs more. To use Free-sync on a monitor, you need a Free-sync GPU. Only Radeon GPUs do this at the moment.

Hi,
g-sync seems to works for me is it enables smoother running at lower fps.. at 1440 your 970 is not going to be banging out high frames rates.. in fact it will struggle..

with a more powerful card just a 144 hrz monitor without dynamic syncing does a good enough job..
