Recent issue with connecting to WiFi at home. I have a Toshiba Laptop running Windows 8. At my house I can see the "Home" WiFi but when I enter the Key/Password, it tells me it cannot connect. My tablets and smart phones connect to it with no problem. I even "Forgot" the network on my tablets and phones and when the Key/Password is entered, they connect to it right away so I know the Key/Password is correct. When I turn my phone into a hotspot, or take my laptop anywhere else it will connect right away with no issues at all.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

To change router wireless channel in most routers you do this :

1- go to 192.168.1.1
2- login with user : admin password : admin (router's default)
3- Go to wireless options
4- You will find wireless channel option , they are from 1 to 13
5- change it to any new channel . save & try to connect .

Channel interference happens much with wireless routers , specially when there is many routers in the same area ( 2 routers with same channel will reduce each other signal quality )

Laptops wifi can sometimes not connect to a channel therefore you need to change it to another one .

I will get an Ethernet cable and attach it to the router and try that. I'm having to turn my phone into a hotspot right now to even access this site for a solution. I don't suppose I can connect to the router while using my hotspot can I?

Sorry for the delay in replying to this, work and family has me busy. The situation is fixed. I found an Ethernet cable and went directly into the back of the router and my got on the internet the second it was plugged in, unplugged it and was able to instantly get on using the wifi also. Not sure why before it kept telling me the password key was wrong, and it wasn't. Thanks for all the suggestions and replies.
