Just like the title says, i want to know if a Corsair H70 can fit an 1150 socket motherboard since I might have to upgrade my i7 3770k cpu in my 1155 socket motherboard to an 1150 motherboard with a new cpu and I want to know if my cooler will fit the 1150 if I get one. Also i'm upgrading because soon my cpu warrenty is going to end so if something happens to the cpu I might have to upgrade instead of getting the same cpu AGAIN since I can't think of any other CPU that's better than the 3770k for the 1155 socket, if anyone knows any other cpu that's better than the 3770k that fits in the 1155 socket please tell me, thank you.

1. Go here:

http://www.corsair.com/en-us/cooling/cpu-coolers

2. Click on 1150

3. The list that comes up does not include the h70

http://www.corsair.com/en-us/hydro-series-h70-cpu-cooler-refurbished

Socket Support = AMD AM2 , AMD AM3 , Intel LGA 1155 , Intel LGA 1156 , Intel LGA 1366 , Intel LGA 775

We don't install or recommend any CLC so I can't speak from experience but I'm having trouble remembering an air cooler or water block that fit 1155 and didn't fit 1150. Still, don't know why Corsair wouldn't list it as compatible.

As far as the upgrade goes, unless going to the heavy overclock ability of sky lake, I can't see upgrading from Sandy bridge

Yes the 1150 and 1155 socket have the same exact mounting pattern for the CPU cooler.
It's very rare for a processor to fail!!!!!!
Upgrading your 3770K processor to a 4790K would make no sense, buying a new processor, motherboard, and possibly operating system for very little performance increase.

In reference to the 1155 socket to 1150 compatibility, it seems the coolers are definitely interchangeable. Check it: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1703568/lga-1155-cooler-fit-lga-1150-socket.html

"Upgrading" to socket 1150 from where you are at is not recommended. You will find the performance increase low relative to the money spent, and although you're out of warranty, the CPU is a good one, and should last some time (both in terms of relative performance and durability).

If you INSIST on upgrading your current platform, I'd urge you to going the Skylane / socket 1151 route. That being said, you should save your money for now :)
