Hey all,

The title of this post says it all pretty much. I need another PSU for my build as this one is not available. The EVGA SuperNOVA 750W G2 is one awesome PSU, getting a 9.8 on jonnyguru. I was extremely pleased with it but then I found out it's not available ANYWHERE in Switzerland. If it is, then it's just too expensive.

I'm building a skylake based gaming PC, with a Core i5-6600K, ASUS Z170-P, an SSD and an HDD, MSI Radeon R9 390. Ppcpartpicker says it will draw about 476W. The way I chose my power supply before is to take the pcpartpicker figure, round the wattage off to the nearest hundred, then add another 150-200W. Then look at the PSU tier list to find a highly rated PSU. Is this a good method of choosing a PSU?

Now, I'm not sure if I NEED a 750W PSU, or if a 650W PSU will be enough. How much margin should I have? Btw, modularity is not important. Great if the PSU has it at a reasonable price, but not needed. Some of the PSU I have looked at so far are: XFX TS 650W and 750W, Seasonic G series 650W, Antec Truepower 650W, Thermaltake TR2 700W.

The R9 390 requires a 550w so typically a 650w will do justice. 700 just in case. 750 may be a little bit of overkill, as I have learned the hard way myself recently running a 1000w with a Radeon 7970 (potentially what caused my PSU to short recently). I would say 700w should be plenty

He already said the G2 wasn't available in his country, don't think the 650w is any different.

Look into XFX PSUs. They are all Seasonic based platforms and can rival the Superflower made G2. You can also just directly look into Seasonic PSUs. Or, the EVGA 750 B2 is a Superflower product, same as G2.

I would post you links from North American retailers but won't do you any good.

390 requires 650w minimum. The 380 is 550w.
