Hello,

Are there motherboards, where it is possible to draw a HDD/SSD from a running motherboard/PC? I mean hot swapabble.

The HDD/SSD that needs to be 'hot swapabble' are only for 'backup', so I will not draw a running OS, only the back-up HDD/SSD.

Second question. What is more robust for hot-swap? HDD or SSD? Are there certain types of models?

Thanks in advance!

Conventional HDD's are not meant for that kind of swapping. In order for it to work, you would have to power down your system every time you would be making the switch. It is lengthy and time consuming procedure which conventional users no longer reach for. The only place you will still find hot swaps are test benches and servers.

That is why portable hard drives, NAS devices and hard drive docks were invented. You must reach for one of these or... make RAID 1.
