Why do they even say the recommended cpu is a pricey i7 when which is for huge multitasking and editing while and i5 is just as powerful but more towards games right.
The i7 is the 'recommended' CPU which is another name for a CPU (and GPU if they list recommended CPUs) that will run the game more smoothly. The minimum recommended CPU (these 'minimum recommended' CPUs are selected because they have enough processing power to maintain the game at decent or above FPS levels that would create better gameplay) is the i5-4460 (that is worse than your i5-4690).

Well I have been playing the phantom pain and many other games including Killingfloor 2 and I have been having no problems with maxing the games at 1080p 60fps with no frame drop.
