Hi community

I'm getting an i5 4690 very soon and then a MSI NVIDIA GTX 970 Gaming Twin Frozr in another month.

Would i be able to play Phantom Pain as the developers recommend an i7....

The i7 is the 'recommended' CPU which is another name for a CPU (and GPU if they list recommended CPUs) that will run the game more smoothly. The minimum recommended CPU (these 'minimum recommended' CPUs are selected because they have enough processing power to maintain the game at decent or above FPS levels that would create better gameplay) is the i5-4460 (that is worse than your i5-4690).
