My USB flashdrive is detected at first but named as "Removable Disk" and needs to be formatted. I did not format it but rather uninstall it from other devices in devmgmt.msc. After reinserting it, my pc doesn't anymore detect it, all of the USB ports. I tried chkdsk in CMD but says it is raw. In the partition pane, it is not detected. But in other computer it says "Removable Disk" rather than my USB name. I tried to reformat it but it says it is RAW and is WRITE-PROTECTED.

I just want to recover my files in the USB flashdrive and make my PC's USB ports (all ports) functional again.

What happened to my PC: It continues to detect pre-installed USB flashdrives but does not detect new ones especially newly bought flashdrives when inserted.

Is there any way to recover this multiple discrepancies without reprogramming the PC?

Hey there, sapienX3m.

I'd suggest that you reinstall/update the USB drivers, to see if that fixes the issue with the USB ports. Other than that, just a piece of advice - you should never store anything important on a flash drive if it doesn't have a backup copy. Reformatting the USB flash drive will erase the data, so please don't try it again. Having in mind it is shown as RAW and write protected even when connected to a different computer, it sounds more like the flash drive might be a faulty one. I'd recommend that you try accessing it via Ubuntu Live USB/DVD, to see if it's properly recognized and if you can get to your data, or try some of the data recovery options from this thread: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1644496/lost-data-recovery.html.

Please let me know how everything goes.
