Should I get a new PSU before a new Video card?

My current PSU is a BFGR1000WEXPSU. I am going to be getting the R9 390 either this September, or December, and am wanting to know if I should worry about my PSU. It is a transfer from my old PC, just like my poop of a video card is. Will this PSU be good enough to run my system along with either the G1 390, or the Nitro 390?

My set up is
- i5-4690k (plan to OC whenever I feel more CPU is needed, which might be after the video card)
- ASrock Z97 Pro4
- Team Elite Zeus 8GB RAM
- Crucial M550 256GB SSD
- GT 430
- Case fans, and in the future may or may not go AIO for the CPU cooler. (However, this option would be after a new psu no matter what, unless you guys think my PSU is fine)

I am sadly missing some of the Modular cables.

Your BFG PSU gets a fair review over at JG, but its age must be called in to question. If it's not old as the hills and it's in good shape it should be able to do the job. Obviously a newer higher quality PSU would be better but that does not mean yours can't do the job. You'll need those 8-pin PCIe cables so start looking for them.

Okay, so I shall get the 390 first, then a psu, then OC the stuff :D

I was thinking about the EVGA G2 or the GS, but now that I think of it, the B2 might be the better option if I am able to save a decent amount of money for the price differences.

TY, I shall look for those:)
Hmm, wait, I think the PSU non-modular part has 2 6+2 pins already. if not, it has at least one

Also, on the link you in your sig, it has the GPU power requirements says 650 Watts recommended. Does this include headroom for OC on both the GPU and CPU? or should I aim for 750/850 to be safe? Hmm,or maybe even 1000 for maybe a future CF, since my board only supports CF and no SLI

UPDATE: The psu non-modular side has a PCI-E chain, with a 6+2 connector and a 6 pin connector on it. says 12v Rail

Yay :D

Now it comes down to Nitro vs XFX DD Black Edition. Locke the Backplate Aesthetics on the XFX. I have seen reviews and it looks like the Nitro is a bit down under. And eww, no back plate xD
