Newly built PC with boot issues (Steps from other guides did not work)

I built my first PC about a week ago with a different power supply (Corsair CX750) but after installing Windows 8.1 that night, the following morning the computer would no longer post/fully boot. The motherboard light remained lit while power was supplied but pressing the power button seemed to do little. The CPU fan and PSU fans would spin, but the dual fans on my GPU would only flicker every few seconds, making a kind of ticking/clicking noise. None of my case fans would run, and nothing appeared on my monitor.

I assumed I had a faulty PSU so I returned it and ordered a new one from Sentey. After connecting the new PSU last night, I got another night of use, and this morning I am experiencing the same problem as last time. Does anyone know what might be wrong with my computer? Or what I could do to fix it? I have already tried the steps from this guide to no avail: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems
*PC would not boot with only a single stick of RAM inserted as mentioned in guide

NOTE: On both occasions, the PC had been left on through the night to complete downloads/updates. When I awoke the morning after, the PC had turned off by itself and would no longer boot. Could this be an overheating issue because i only used the stock CPU cooler (Intel i3 4170)?

Part list for my computer:
CPU: Intel i3 4170 with stock cooler
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 960 2GB SuperSC ACX 2.0+
PSU: Sentey Power Supply 750w 80 Plus Bronze - Mbp750-hs Metal Blade Power
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Motherboard: Asus Z87-A ATX LGA1150

Just a wild guess, but it could be the motherboard that is broken, because everything is connected to the motheboard and, well, nothing works. Usually if it's something like, say, the graphics card, the case fans will all run, but since not even those are running and you are on the second power supply, I suspect a motherboard issue possibly. Speculation of course.

Is there a solid way I could test this theory? I'm just apprehensive about replacing more parts because the computer seems to work normally for a short period before going back to not booting.

Oh I thought it did not boot at all. I don't know, not sure why it boots only sometimes.

Well it has booted two times total. Once with the original PSU, then once with the new one. It doesn't boot anymore

I had a similar kind of problem . But mine was a old PC.Every single possible component was replaced and tried, but finally went to a local repair and they opined that the MB may be faulty. Finally it was found that a short circuit at power switch was the actual villain.
So please try that also.
