The mic in the headset doesn't work. The headset itself works fine. When I turn on the mic I can hear it through the headset - it works. However, my computer does not recognize it and it wont work. It had worked before, although there had been a large amount of static. In order to fix this, I fiddled around with the sound levels, nothing to invasive. Then, it stopped working altogether.

just a few suggestions, right click the volume control down and got to sounds, got to recording devices, right click you beaches and configure speech recognition and setup your mic, if that doesnt work, try install razor surround, and set up the mic under a normal headset but it might limit what you can do on the x12 levels box, and for me, to turn down the static, i moved all the usbs i had to the back usb ports and only had the x12s in front, also turn down the dials on the x12 volume box to about 3/4 from the max limit, it reduced to static for me, hope it helps
