Can't set HDD as GPT disc on Windows 10 - HELP!

I'm using an OEM 64 bit Windows 10 disc. The HDD is a Western Digital 4TB black series; it is the only storage drive in my build right now. Mobo is Maximus VII Hero.

I didn't think the HDD would default to mbr during installation, but it did. I could not change the setting in the disk manager; the option was greyed out. Resetting the OS through settings did not allow me to do anything, so I tried to change the boot order in the bios to UEFI disc drive as the first option and then I reinstalled from the disc. This also did not work.

I've run out of ideas. I really don't want my 4TB drive to be restricted to 2TB. I don't have anything on the drive aside from windows right now, so I can reinstall, but I don't want to do it again unless I'm sure this problem can be solved.

I would rather not use third party software, but if I have to, I might.

You need to start your Windows installation from the UEFI. There should be an option somewhere that lets you boot from the UEFI into your Windows installation.

I'll give it a shot tomorrow (later today, technically). I'm too tired to go through another installation right now.

I greatly appreciate the quick reply, though. I'll look around for that option in the uefi first thing when I get up.

Turned out that my last attempt, namely changing the boot order in the uefi, worked. I didn't notice because when I reinstalled Windows, I did not have the option to create one huge partition, but it seems to be fine now. It's set as GPT and shows 3.63TB. I'm assuming that's fine because of binary/decimal conversion.
