Forcing 100 Mbps / 1 Gbps Full Duplex still gets me 10 Mbps link speed.

Well, I had a problem where I couldn't get my stupid KILLER LAN shit to set itself to 100 Mbps Full Duplex, so I inserted in my PCI-E slot an old network card I found in my home. After that, setting it to any speed didn't bring up any problems, BUT... even if I set it to 100 Mbps / 1 Gpbs Full Duplex, I get like 10 Mbps... Also, no one can pick up Wi-Fi from the router.

make and model of the router? might be a settings on the router?

This is for a wired LAN card, I assume?

You could have a shitty cable. Try another one.

@ktolo I have tried like a [adjective removed] of cables, but all are the same, even the cables from the MOBO and from the router. @rgd1101 It's a TP-LINK TL-WR841N.

According to the tp-link manual, this router LAN ports support up to 100 mbit, so that's how fast you should also configure it on the PC, no faster. If you want faster LAN, buy a gigabit switch.

Ok, I understand that, because when I plug it into the motherboard directly I am limited to 100 Mbps Full Duplex (and on top of that it doesn't even connect when I set the value to it). The reason I get 1 Gbps as an option is because I have plugged it in a network card. Here is what happens when I set it to 100 Mbps Full Duplex.

My next guess is, ur running W10, drivers of which I would not trust at this time. If not W10, then my next finger would point at a bad to-link.

Nope, I am running W8.1 Pro, not going to upgrade for some time, so bugs can be fixed.
