Hi!

I have an Arris SBG6782 modem/router from my isp, and I recenly setup a raspberry pi 2 web server. To make it available outside of my network, I wanted to open port 80, however, nothing seems to work. After filling in the information required to allow port forwarding, I used "port forward network utilities" to check if the port was open, and I allowed DMZ hosting to my raspberry pi's ip address. I even turned off my entire firewall, and still it does not want to work. I also checked with my ISP to make sure that port 80 is not turned off by default, however, that was not the case.

Any help is really appreciated!

How are you trying to connect to your webserver? From the internal network (anything inside your network) or the external network (using mobile data or a computer that's not at your home)?

Thanks for the reply :)

No, it didn't work. I tried doing it with a phone and chromebook.

*edit* The devices were connected to a different network.

After snooping around the web and finding some more information on your router, it seems that other people have the same issue as you, and the only way they could get round it was by just using a different router.

Dang :( That is what I thought as well, since when I was searching, I noticed that most people with this problem had Arris routers. I was just hoping that there would be a way around it.

But honestly, I don't think there is much left I can do in terms of configuration.
Are the port forwarding programs any good?
