Nvidia GTX 970 Heat Issues

So I recently bought a gtx 970 for my desktop and i'm loving it. The problem is, I think, is the iBuyPower NZXT case. This case still has the stock fans and everything, and while playing any graphically intense game the card reaches temperatures of 60-70c while the fans are at anywhere from 50-70%. My question is this, Do I need to get a bigger case (wires and cords in this case are cramped), or do I need to buy better fans? Picture attached is the current situation.

And, yes, I know this is horrible. I believe the answer is a bigger case but I wanted to be 100% sure.

Load temps of 60-70C are pretty good actually. It's when you hit 75+ that you should start to wonder if your cooling is inadequate.

I definitely recommend cleaning that case, though - it looks like you have years' worth of dust built up. Better cable management may also be in order but if your temps are fine then there's no urgent need.

Temps of 60-high 70s are good? Even if those temps are reached like 10-20 minutes into the session? Also I dont have any canned air around currently. Is there anyway to give it a complete cleaning without it? *EDIT* Also thanks for the quick reply!

High 70s might be a bit much but 60s-low 70s are fine. Nvidia cards won't throttle until they reach 80C.

If you don't have canned air, you can wipe the dust off non-pcb surfaces with some tissue paper (don't use cloth) - just make sure to ground yourself or use an anti-static bracelet. If you have some 70%+ isopropyl alcohol, you can apply some of that as well.

Thanks again you're awesome! One last question, in your opinion, should I get a bigger case?

What case do you have specifically? There are multiple iBuyPower-branded NZXT cases.

Bigger cases don't automatically translate into better cooling. Airflow is what's important - you should have fans pulling air in from the front and at least one fan exhausting out the top or the back.

The specific case I have is the NZXT gamma gaming tower (or at least that what I think it is had a difficult time finding the specific case).

Well, there's nothing really wrong with that case. If you want to improve airflow, you can manage your cables better by zip-tie-ing them together and to the sides/back of the case to prevent them from blocking airflow and creating turbulence.

A fan configuration like I described in my last post will also help. Since your case only has 1 120mm fan mount in front, you can move some more air by installing another intake fan on one of the side mounts.
