I am looking for a new router, and I am considering the Linksys EA6350 AC1200+ Dual-Band Smart Wi-Fi Wireless Router. I want to know if it has a built in DLNA media servers so I can stream to my TV video from a HDD attached to the routers' usb 3 port. Its specs sheet doesn't state so, unlike the EA6900 whom specs sheet does state so.

Also - does it support installing dd-wrt firmware?

Solution

It's really easy to just Google this stuff.

Careful, just because it says USB3, I'll bet you the farm, that the real throughput is much, much less. Should be OK just to dip your toes. Oh also make sure it can do NTFS (ideal), exFAT (a compromise), FAT/FAT32 etc you are limited to smaller file size, I think <10G but am not sure. Some also can't write, read-only.

@BuddhaSkoota - Thanks. But this still doesn't provide a full answer - what media server is installed there, and what version. Also - if it's a third party media server can I independently update it, or do they release periodic updates.
