Am I able to use this CPU based on my specs?

These images are screenshots of my specs using the program CPU-Z.
I'm sure the Socket is right and all, but I just want to make sure everything will be good to go. The biggest question I have is the 95W in the title of the product. I'm thinking it means Watts, so does that mean I need a power supply of at least 95W? My graphics card requires a power supply of at least 400W, so should I be good to go there as well?

Like tambeshakunt said, the motherboard isn't compatible with an fx 6300. Some am3 boards do have bios updates that will allow for fx support but I'm assuming that 780g motherboard listed as a cm1730/cm1830 is the m4a78Lt-m. If so, asus doesn't list any support for the fx cpu's on that motherboard.

In terms of power, the 95w listed with the fx 6300 (or any cpu) is the tdp or thermal design power. It's not how much power the chip consumes, it's a measure of heat that the manufacturer has determined needs to be displaced to cool the chip properly at normal load. It doesn't take into account overclocking or anything else. You mention the graphics card needs at least 400w so you should be good to go - what power supply do you have? It...
No you will not be able to use the fx6300 or any fx series cpu. Your current motherboard and cpu are socket AM3. The FX cpus are AM3+. AM3 fits in AM3+ but not the other way. This is because AM3+ has extra pins so your current motherboard will not be able to seat the CPU (its socket is only am3).


So, either:
1) Buy an AM3+ motherboard....or move to intel (since you will be buying new cpu and board)
2) Buy an AM3 cpu (not much point)


The wattage you mention is the tdp. This is the maximum amount of power the cpu is expected to draw. Of course your psu doesn't just power the cpu so you have to consider the whole system. Usually, the gpu mentions psu recommendation including cpu...so if it says 400W, I would go for a 450W or 500W to be safe.

It can't be determined whether the wattage of your power supply is suitable without knowing what it is.

There are power consumption tests that have been done to show the consumption of different systems with different cpus. Xbitlabs put together a system with an fx 6300, 8gb ram, ssd drive and gtx 680 then stress tested it under full load (stock). Power consumption was 162w. That wasn't with the gpu under load, just the cpu. The same system with an i5 3570k under load, 126w.

We also don't know what gpu you have along without knowing your power supply wattage so there's some information missing needed to give better advice.
