Case modding, connect LED strip to motherboard's power LED port?

Hello, I am building a custom computer case, and would like to light it with LEDs and connect them to the power led port on the motherboard that usually lights up something near the power button. I was wondering, what would I need to do to achieve this?

those LED strips use a fair amount of amperage, so I think you might overload the pins, how about using molex power? that is how I power my LEDs.

I'm sorry, I'm not too educated in electrical engineering, is that some sort of device I could plug into the motherboard pins to compensate for the amperage difference?

not that I know of that is not meant to be a high power pin out, it just light some or two LEDs normally. the molex cable has lots more amps, and has both a 5.5 volt and a 12 volt set, which means you can use resistors or PWM to make the LEDs work.

Is there a way that I could have that activate only when the motherboard's power pin is outputting a signal?

so you want the lights to go on when the PC is turned on? molex power does the same thing.
