Hey all,

I've just built a new PC, and I have found that he power button on the case (Corsair 350D) does not work.

All the components are connected correctly, but the computer does not power on (no fans, no nothing).

The only two ways I've managed to turn the thing on is by shorting the power pins in the motherboard, a connecting the reset header to the power pins, and using the reset button instead. However, the opposite is not true - the power button does not act as a reset switch if I plug the power header into the reset pins.

Is my power button faulty or have I missed something?

Note: After booting the PC, every component registers.

Solution
You did equivalent of a "double" test

You proved the pins work
You proved system turns on
You proved the button don't work no matter where it's connected.

Besides, Corsair's gonna send you one for free or you're gonna buy a $4.99 fancy replacement so not like anything at risk here. Of course an electric multi-meter would put the question to rest.

Order a replacement button from manufacturer. Or install a custom one to your liking. RMA costs you shipping and on the HAF that won't be cheap.

FCPU hasn't been open for 6+ months but the web site is still the best place to find stuff :)
