First of all a huge thank you to anyone that posts and tries to help, I greatly appreciate it.

About 3 months ago I put together my first PC build. During the initial setup I encountered some problems as far as the graphics card giving me no signal and fans turning on and back off again repeatedly. With a few tweaks I got the system up and running perfectly.

Flash forward 3 months and after a successful day of gaming and working with my computer I wake up one morning to it surprisingly on, but not functioning. I shut the system down and tried to re-boot, but was getting no signal. After digging a bit deeper I realized that my graphics card was having the same problems as when I first put the system together. The fans would start and stop repeatedly. I went through all of the necessary steps. Changed ram, changed the slot my card was in, reset the CMOS, and I even gave the whole system a nice cleaning, but still nothing. I figured the power supply might not be giving enough juice, a 500w 80 plus certified power supply from EVGA, so I upgraded and got a 750W power supply 80+ bronze certified from Corsair, but still nothing. Thought maybe my GPU was the problem, a r7 370 dual-x from Sapphire, and replaced it with a GTX 960 FTW from EVGA. Tested both cards with both power supplies and no progress at all. At this point I am at a stand still and come to you guys for a answer or at least to point me in the right direction. Any and all suggestions are helpful. I did test my monitor and it is working no problem. Also all drivers are up to date and I am running Windows 10 64bit. I will say that it wasn't until downloading windows 10 that I started to run into some problems.

This is one of those things where it could be different devices and no real clear cut way to check. I'll just tell you what happened to me when i had the same issue.

First off, usually when a GPU's fans spin up for a sec when you start the computer and then stop, that usually means they get the initial power from the PSU, but then the GPU itself shuts the fans down because it has no other instructions. This happened to me a while back with a GTX 550. I also replaced the PSU and kept having the same issue. Eventually i could get my computer to boot, but it was a "turn off, turn on, turn off" process until the thing decided it was ready. My options were to keep the computer on all the time as well as make sure it didn't shut down the...

Eventually i could get my computer to boot, but it was a "turn off, turn on, turn off" process until the thing decided it was ready. My options were to keep the computer on all the time as well as make sure it didn't shut down the monitors (that would cause the GPU to not fire back up as well)

After a bit I got fed up and picked up a GTX 760... and had the same issue. Computer would boot up, but GPU would not and screens would stay blank. Finally I picked up a new MB (last year) and replaced that... I haven't had a single issue since. Now I have no idea what the exact issue was. PCI-e slot, PCI-e controller, no idea. I'd replaced GPU, PSU, HDD to a SSD, clean install, Win7, Linux, all had the same issue over that 3 month period. The only thing that finally fixed it was a MB swap.

This is all the info I have, it's best if you can test the cards, PSU and even CPU in another machine but that's not always possible. I was able to check the 550 and 760 in a different machine and I KNEW they worked so that's why I went with the MB swap. Good luck and let us know how it turns out :)

The only fans that are affected are the GPU fans, on both cards. The fans turn on and off randomly. It seems like they get power and the shut down. All other fans work perfectly fine, processor fan and both case fans. Everything seems to be in order besides the fact that I do not get a signal. It is very hot where I live so the whole system might have overheated. Also considering everything powers ok it might be a problem with the PCI=E slot on the motherboard, but don't want to come to conclusions.

Pretty much I can't see anything on my monitor, the basic problem.

I definitely appreciate the insight. Considering I have tried everything else a MOBO swap was next on my list.
