Hi,
I recently upgraded my VGA monitor to one of a higher resolution (1440x900) and was wondering if i could plug in the old one for multiple monitor setup? Only problem is that my GPU (Asus series r7 250X) Does not have enough DVI Ports for me to use an adapter. Could i possibly use the VGA port on my MBO's IO shield or would this ruin my graphics setup?

I do not think you are right. When the GPU is active, the iGPU is disabled. Both monitors could be run from the motherboard or the GPU, but it is not possible to run one from the motherboard and the other from the GPU.

The 250X should have both an HDMI and a DVI port, so you should be able to run both monitors from it. Which card exactly do you have OP?

Thats the problem - I have 2 VGA monitors and one uses the DVI - VGA adaptor. I was told that i could enable surround mode on my internal graphics and it would only use the secondary display. With surround mode enabled, my system still won't detect the monitor.

One is using a DVI - VGA adaptor into the GPU and the other is just VGA into the motherboard
