I have a modem/wireless router provided by my ISP. I am having some issues with it and the customer service representative told me that it could be a hardware problem since I am having this problem almost every day for a few months now. They gave me an option for a replacement which I have to pay. But there is this wireless router that I like, a few bucks cheaper and with more features than the ISP's provided one.

Now, I want to use the ISP provided modem/wireless router(2in1) as a modem only and connect the new wireless router to it for wireless and wired connections. According to my research, I have to change the former's mode into bridge and disable its wifi and dhcp server. Now what should I do next? Thanks

Your actions sound correct. Set it to bridge, disable WIFI and DHCP. Those may be easy to do or impossible. Usually bridge mode is the hard part. You will have to google the model of modem/router and "bridge mode" to get specific steps.

Thanks. I already googled about the bridge mode of the modem/router they gave me, now the only problem left is the configuration I should do on the new wireless router so that desktops and devices could connect to it wireless or wired.
