Hi

I've been using my custom PC for 1-2 months now, but sometimes my PC doesn't boot properly.

Usually, I just enter my BIOS and restart my PC and it's all fine again, but the problem keeps occurring which is making me rather worried.

This is exactly what happens:

I switch my PC on, the PC starts up (lights on, fans spin, and then lights and fans go off; and then they turn back on and the PC boots) - on a side note is this even a problem?

My PC then either turns on as normal OR the PC enters this screen saying something along the lines of: "Overclock failed!" and then it tells you to enter the BIOS and reconfigure your settings.
    Similar to this:
    OC_failed.jpg

At this stage my Asus motherboard has 'bd' in its digital display but i couldn't find what that means.

I then enter the BIOS, and just start over, not changing anything, and my PC works again.

When I overclocked my CPU I wasn't sure of how to do it. So I changed my RAM to XMP and then just increased the clock speed of my CPU. To make sure everything was OK I did some temperature testing and everything was very, very cool (below 60 degrees celsius).

Anyway, thank you for reading this. A solution would be greatly appreciated.
If you think the problem is my clueless overclocking just post a response asking for what data you need and then I'll go into the BIOS and fetch the current settings. I think most stuff is on AUTO.

Thanks again!

My rig is currently:

set your ram timings manually, something isn't playing nice, I would have to say having everything on auto isnt the greatest idea. you should be setting your cpu voltage manually as well.

cool and quiet should be off etc

need your exact bios settings to help further.

It's your SA voltage. Even using XMP, this voltage doesn't always allow you to POST correctly. It a Memory Training" thing w/ DDR4. I would get Bd or bF even stock CPU speed with XMP profile at 2800 or 3000 profile. No problem at stock 2133, even when CPU OC'd. It's random as well, even though everything would run fine on a normal boot. I had to manual adjust this voltage. The voltage is also non linear to speed. In other words, 3000 speed may need less SA voltage than 2800 to POST properly. Regardless of what XMP sets (based on an average) try a manual setting of 1.02v and go up or down if necessary. My XMP profile set 1.16 itself. Even adjustments of .005 make a difference in stability. May take awhile to get the right voltage range. If you need more details, just ask.

Ok, thank you. I've been away for a while so I haven't had a chance to test it, but whenever I turn on my PC I have that worry if it's going to 'work' straight away. I'll try and change the XMP profile and get back to you shortly. Thank you!
