Hello! I bought yesterday a Sandisk Extreme 64gb USB 3.0 flash drive: since my motherboard doesn't support USB 3.0, I connect it to an Inateck PCI-E to USB 3.0 5-Port PCI Express Card in order to increase transfer speeds. I just want to ask if you can indicate a benchmarking software and eventually tell me which write/read speeds I should reach. My OS is Windows 8.1 Pro and it is installed on a Samsung 840 EVO SSD.

Solution
The PCI-E should be just as fast as onboard. Drives are rated for those speeds, but only in certain circumstances can the speeds be achieved (manufacturers bigging up the specs) - the speeds you're getting are fine :)

Thank you very much! I ran five instances of a Sequential read/write test with single thread (size 1gb) and the difference is huge: 36.91/32.51 (r/w) on USB 2.0 vs 151.8/146.8 (r/w) on 3.0, so i guess it's working (I hope I chose a correct test to do). Just a question: the maximum speed reported of this flash drive is 245MB/s for reading and 190MB/s for writing: are my slower results due to limitations of the PCI-E interface so that, if I would try the drive on a more recent motherboard with integrated USB 3.0, I could reach maximum speeds?
